Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Contacting the bar association

How can I find the closest bar association?

I was previously advised to contact the bar association near my attorney's office from lawguru. (He doesn't answer my phone calls ore-mails, he owed me money for a retainer I gave him to start getting court documents from my son's case. I was interested in trying to get a motion for an early release. This attorney has not sent me any paperwork as promised. It has been months. He has only e-mailed me once in January 2008 stating he was in Federal court and will send me the documents shortly.

Re: Contacting the bar association

There is no motion for an early release. 30 days after sentencing, the trial courts lose jurisdiction to hear the case, except for certain constitutional issues. Early release is not one of those issues. A governor's pardon, or clemency is the way to go now. Those are very difficult to obtain. It seems to me that I answered this question several months ago.
