Re: Money theft

The step you should take prior to going to court is to hire an attorney to represent you. Even if you are guilty and good lawyer can minimize your sentence.

Re: Money theft

Certainly you should be prepared to make restitution. However, please know that this is a class A misdemeanor that carries a possible sentence of up to 364 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $2500. You should have an attorney with you to protect your interests. You could have probation, conditional discharge, supervision or under the best of circumstances, the case might be dismissed. There are life long implications to the outcome when it involves a crime of dishonesty. Restitution ahead of court is a tricky situation, as it might actually be used against you as an additional admission. If you wish further information you can call 630-257-8280.

I agree with both of the responses posted prior to mine. However, your post does not state specifically what you are charged wit, or where youmust appear in Court. These factors can make a very big difference in the possible outcome. At the least it would appear that you are facing class A Misdemeanor charges. another factor would be any criminal history on your part. In any event, there is no doubt whatsoever that you need to hire an attorney to represent you. Any expense will be well worth the services and results an attorney should be able to obtain on your behalf. If you are facing these charges in Madison or St. Clair County, I would be able to help you. You may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
