Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Preparing evidence for court - violent crime

I am the victim of a battery and I want to submit photographs of the injuries to be used by the state's prosecutor when the case goes to court. We also have the weapon used in the crime.

This will be tried as a Class A Misdemeanor because the weapon did not fall into the standard definition of ''assault with a deadly weapon''. The fact that a weapon was used, however, is an important aspect of the case. And even more importantly, the location and severity of the injuries to my body will disprove the defense's claim that the offender supposedly caused these injuries in the course of his own ''self-defense''. We expect this bogus ''self-defense'' tactic because the offender's self-incrimination in testimony to police investigators already rules out most other defense strategies.

I am not sure what your question is. If you want to know how to submit the weapons and photos during trial, you will need to talk to the prosecutor's office. The evidence will not come in unless it is introduced by the prosecutor.
