Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois

Unjust education

I am a student in a college for massage therapy which is costing alot of money for a 9 mth program.. This college has advertised on tv that they have highly trained instructors and a great program. The 19 students (includng myself) have experienced only problems change of instructors (5 changes in 5 mths) none of whom except for the first had any training to speak of and today the fifth stated he was over worked, did not have enough training (has only been a massuse for 1.5 yrs), & walked out. We as a group have taken our conserns to the President and were told again he'll look at it. We want to know if we have a legal standing to either recieve our money back or a discount or some recourse. Thank you

You entereded into a contract with the school and if it has failed to comply with the terms of that agreement,it is likely that you have a good cause of action against the school. Normally, the contract would consist of a written agreement together with any advertising or publications given you containing representations that the school has failed to meet. If you don't receive satisfaction from the President, I would suggest you and the others consider filing suit against the school. You might also file a complaint with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
