Access to parents funds

If my parent becomes incapacitated (i.e. hospitalized in a coma or moved to a nursing home), how do we (her children) get access to her funds to pay expenses?

Re: Access to parents funds

You must be appointed guardian of her estate by a court. Or she can add you to her accounts as joint owners. A third way is to have her execute a power of attorney. The last two must be done before she is incapacitated. If she already is, then you must be appointed guardian of her estate and health by a judge. please call for a free consultation.
