Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Illinois

Starting Paintball Field

I and a few friends were planning to start a paintball field. We were going to use a field owned by an acquaintence of ours, and charge admission to a limited group of people. Under entertainment, sport, or any other type of law, would we need some sort of license to legally operate this field? For instance, if a local paintball field lost customers because of us, would they be able to press charges for operating without a license or anything of that nature?

You will need to get a operator's license to operate a paintball facility. You should contact the city clerk and request information about licensing in that area. Further, you may even consider having waivers signed by the participants to waive any liability that may arise from injuries which are sustained while using the facility.
