Name Change
My Grandaughter does not have the last name of her father. His name was not put on the Birth certificate. He does share custody of the child with her mother and he pays child support. We want her to start using her fathers last name on all of her school records, Social Security No. et. How can we do this in the least expensive way. He signed paternity papers at our local County clerks office.

Hello. It is going to be
necessary to file a change
of name petition because
there is a trend of thinking
that has emerged in Illinois
where judges in paternity
courts now do not think
that paternity court is
the proper court of
jurisdiction for change of
name petitions. Hire a
lawyer to avoid alot of
confusion.
