Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My child found a small amount of mary jane in my car & took it to school, the police talked to me about it ,I told them it was not mine, they have taken no more action. But my x-husband put an order of protection to take her away from me. What should I do at court.

Unless the judge in Fulton County is sympathetic (I'm presuming that's where venue will be based on your zip), you could be in significant trouble as your ex may have a basis for cutting off access to your child. I've handled cases analogous to yours, courts look down on kids around drugs, regardless of "whose" it is (Saying it isn't yours isn't the point either, and doubtful the judge may believe you - irregardless if that is the truth).

I'm not talking my book when I say GET A LAWYER. Once the court enters it's judgment, it's almost impossible to overturn later on appeal. You need to take this deadly seriously.
