Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I was divorced in Illinois in 2006. The divorce decree stated I must pay 10% of my net income as a support payment to my exwife. I am unemployed and have been to 6 months. My income has been reduced by 80%. I am 60 years of age and unable to find another job. My exwife is employed as a registered nurse and have a decent income. what are my options? My unemployment pays $1400 a month. I currently live in Florida.

Your only optio is to fiel and present motion in an Illinois court to modify the support. You must give your ex notice of the filing and presentation of the motion to modify.

If your judgment said the maintenance (alimony) was non modifiable, your job is harder.
