Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My fiance has a child prior to our engagment and is paying child support to the mother. However, I was told that once we get married, that the courts would order for me to give her 20 percent of my income as well. Can you please clarify that this is not the case.

Hello. That is certainly not true at all. Your husband to be is the only one responsible for child support.

Not a chance. you and your income can not be touched, unless there is some type of fraud, such as he is working and you are the one getting paid.
