Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I just found out that my children's mother has moved in with a sex offender. I have already called DCFS and the cops to report it. I just want me kids out of the house and safe with me.

First, read 750 ILCS 5/609.5

Second, stop wasting your time with DCFS, man up and petition the court yourself. Get an attorney if you have too.

Your best course of action would be to present a petition before the court, probably on an emergency basis. Rather than try to navigate the system on your own you should seek the help of an attorney. DCFS and/or the police probably will not be much help to you. Good Luck.
