Jurisdiction change

If a child's residence (Illinois) is located outside the state the parents divorce is filed in (Texas), can the father keep the jurisdiction in Texas. Even if the mother is trying to change it?

If the father remains in Texas, then Texas will retain jurisdiction. As always, there are certain exceptions that would require quite a bit more facts.
