Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

if I live in il and am married the house is in the wifes name wife works part time and I want to leave the home I have already filed dissolution of marriage papers with the county can I leave the home or is it called abandoment? please also provide the IL section code so I can look it up . Thank You

If you've already filed papers you should be asking your lawyer. If you're handling this pro se and acting as your own lawyer, you should be doing the research yourself. You can leave anytime, it is not considered an abandonment. It is not specifically stated in any statute of which I am aware. You do not mention when the house was purchased or explain why the house is only in your wife's name, so I can't advise you on those issues.
