Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I got married 14 years ago and things are getting worse and worse between my husband and I. Since all my family lives in Romania, I would like to go back there once I file for the divorce in Illinois (where I live currently). Since I am unemployed and my work permit would get annulled once I file for the divorce (I am not a green card holder yet and will also have no legal right to stay in the USA once I file for divorce), I would like to know if there is a legal procedure that I can follow in order to give my divorce lawyer all the rights to represent me during the divorce procedure. I will most likely not be able to come back to USA once I go back to Romania, therefore I would need the divorce lawyer to represent me in all matters and settlements here.

Also, I would appreciate if you could direct me to a law office in the West suburbs of Chicago that can help me out in this matter.

Thank you!

You can stay in Romania, and have a lawyer represent you here. I would recommend letting him file the actual divorce petition for procedural reasons. We have an office in the west suburbs, so feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
