Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Married for 32 years, seperated X 7 years. My Husband will be retiring from the county June 2012. I haven't received any paper work regarding benefits from TRS. Am I entitled for benefits even though I don't know how to check on the paper work. Thank You

Hello. My answer is based upon the statements made by you in your posting. You need a lawyer to look into your situation. In my opinion, you are entitled to the same benefits that you would have received, if you were still living with your husband because you are still married to him. If you file for divorce or legal separation, you may be entitled to maintenance which used to be referred to as alimony in the State of Illinois. I have additional comments and suggestions that I can make concerning this matter.
