Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

are there any options a non-custodial parent has to legally not have to pay child support? Is there anything that can be done by me?

Insufficient information -- economic circumstances may or may not have an effect. But if you simply stop payments that will only cause more pain -- for you included. You might want to consider going to court in a pre-emptive way and seeing if you can get some relief so that you're not held in contempt for failure to pay....but don't expect miracles. Becoming divorced was your and your ex-s decision, not your kid(s).
