Parent rights

I am not married to my daughters father and I am thinking of moving out of state with my daughter what do I have to do in order for me not to get in trouble for moving out of state with my daughter?

You need to get a court's approval...we call that a petition for removal. Not always easy to get approved. A court sort of balances how child's life would be improved by the move, how your life would be bettered, and how non-custodial parent's relationship with child would be impacted. The relationship of child with non-custodial parent is critical. If mother's not involved I'd suggest this gets granted easily. If mother's very involved, these are tough cases to win.

You need to file a Petition for Removal. Otherwise the father can make you come back.
