Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Restraining order

My daughters ex-husband's girlfriend (who he has lived with for 1.5 yrs and they have a 11 month old baby) filed a restraining order against him. Is it possible for my daughter to find out why the restraining order was filed as her ex- has weekend visitations? Is my grandchild at risk? Her ex husband has a ''unreported'' history of verbal abuse and tried to strangle my daughter once. She won't tell me what else he had done. How would she get that information?

Re: Restraining order

She needs to get to the circuit clerk's office and look in the file. All she needs is the names and the clerk's staff should be able to find the file. The petition should show the reasons - as might the order.
