Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

If my spouse & I file for an uncontested divorce & both sign papers & file on that day, will the divorce be completed just as fast as if we hired an attorney. How long would my spouse have to wait before she took me back to court. My concern is that my spouse could get free legal help after the divorce due to the decrease in my spouse's income.

You are asking two distinct questions. In theory if you have all the appropriate papers prepared at the time of filing, you can obtain the divorce as quickly as a lawyer can. But you may not have prepared all the appropriate papers.
