Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

My father died eighteen months ago with no will. My oldest two siblings went to the home and took almost everything of value. The house I grew up in I was to purchase from my siblings and move in. My oldest sister became angry with me and changed the rules even though we had a contract but had not closed. I had the utilities put in my name, fixed up the house where needed and installed a security system. I paid the bills from may (the time i was suppose to move) until she told me that she had sold the house to someone else in september. My first question: 1) Don't all surviving children have to sign the contract for house to be sold and 2) would i be able to sell my portion of the home because i do not trust nor want anything to do with this now. I know that the way they do business is questionable and do not want to get caught in the crossfire.

if the house was in your father's name only, title cannot be cleared until it goes through probate. a probate estate needs to be opened and can be opened by any interested party. you should contact a lawyer in the county where your dad resided. he/she will be able to get this moving in the right direction. good luck.
