Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

when my sister passed away my nephew had a quit claim deed and put a lock on her door and wouldn't let me have anything out of her house. I am her closest living relative, her sister. Most of the stuff in the house had been moved from my mother's house and was furniture that was left to me in my mom's will. Could he legally lock me out and if not what do I do?

You can probably file a suit for conversion. I suggest that you hire an attorneyt to send him a letter requesting the return of those items.
