Can I sue a registered agent of a LLC

Can I sue the registered agents of a LLC in Illinois' small claims court? If yes, do I have to personally serve him/her or can I serve any member of the corporation on their behalf?

Generally, if the sheriff serves the papers upon the agent of a corporation, that service is effective.
