Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

Did not surrender all my I-94s

I had an I-94 when I entered on company A's H1 b visa which was swtapled to the passport.

And I switched companies and got my visa revalidated in the US. So I received another i-94 attached to the new I-797. Recently I travelled outside of US and I only returned the i-94 in the passport. That i-94 has expired by the time I left. But the i-94 with my new i-797 was a valid one which I forgot to turn in . Is this a problem ? Can this be corrected ?

Thanks a lot for your help

Re: Did not surrender all my I-94s

The main thing is to be sure you carry all of your I-797 forms with you when you travel. If you can document maintenance of status, it should not be too much of a problem. You can also try contacting the port of entry that you left from and see what their procedures are for updating you departure records.
