Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois

can i market myself on the internet as a domestic violence survivor speaker? ex was charged 10 years ago for battery and had charge later sealed. he went on to covertly steal our marital assets, he copied and pasted my name on mortgages in 2002 and 2003 which were rolled in a 2006 mortgage i knew about for a cashout refi, he violated my privacy by wiring home with CCTV without my knowledge, in my emails, tapping the house phone, had my cell phone messages sent to his, took out an extra $250k life insurance policy i was never aware of and i became extremely ill with unexplained symptoms which spontaneously went away when i kicked him out because i found love letter to lady stockbroker whom i never met and allowed him entrance into my funds, churning them while i lost money. divorce judge and police have done nothing. i know i was being poisoned. he lied about taking out the policy in court. I have the paperwork. why doesnt anyone care? want to broadcast my story in hope that someone would help me. paid out over $280k in legal fees, got nothing and i am broke. please dont advise to get counseling. cant even afford that and it doesnt work. i need justice. maybe then i can heal.

Glad you are done with this man. Please have no further contact with him. Also, cancel the life policy if you have not already done this. Order your three credit reports which typically are free, experion and trans union come to mind. Then you can see what else has been done in your name, etc. You may also want to speak with a new seasoned attorney re your options especially if the divorce matter is still pending or if you have further contact with him or to even clear up any bad debts if necessary. If so, I suggest hiring an honest and experienced local legal counsel to discuss legal options further. Also, as for your question re marketing yourself as a survivor your choice of career is your own. Life experience can go a long way in giving someone insight and knowledge, but you also may want to look into working in the field, perhaps helping other survivors to further your knowledge and training too. Some college courses might also help you down the line if you like the experience of working in this field. Best of luck.
