Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois

I became owners with 2 other women and we were putting a website together. We dont have an operating agreement. But we have a web development contract we all signed and we were to open July 1st (Friday) They called me a couple days ago and told me it wasnt working out and they dont want me to be a owner of this site anymore. We spent a month doing work on this website and the name and logo and choosing design ect... In the contract it says all the content is the property of us. I want to know if they can just do this and still put up the site and use the name and design and ideas I put into it.

As a Franchise Attorney I can only say the following. You would need to establish that the three of you had a partnership and that you are entitled to an equal share in the partnership going forward. That is, unless you want them to essentially buy your interest out at this point. Either way, it will be necessary to pay for specific legal advice. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
