Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I live in Illinois and lost my job 2 weeks ago. My unemployment $420 a week is not enough to cover expenses and rent. I need to move to a shelter or rent a room. The lease states I need 2 months rent to break it. I don't have it. I'm trying to avoid the legality of eviction but understand I need to move. What's the best way with the least legal ramifications to do this?

Negotiate with your landlord - the landlord may be happy to let you go quickly instead of the impending likelihood of your being unable to pay rent.
