Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I have a storage unit. I am late with rent by 11 days. I called to make payment arrangements but they deny it. I was told my lease can lock me out of my unit for non-payment.

Question-Can the Lessor company leagally deny me access to my belongings and unit for late rent? This could be a class action suit if others are effected.

Thank you

They can but once you pay the bill they have to take the lock off. After a period of time of non-payment, they can sell or otherwise dispose of your belongings and relet the unit.
