Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Illinois

Hit and Run

My vehicle was hit last year. The person who hit me was driving a dealership vehicle where he was employed. The employee ran from the scene of the accident and I was treated and released the same day. At the time of the accident, I did not have insurance. My injuries were minor, but my vehicle was damaged beyond repair. Is this a case I can pursue against the dealership? The employee was apprehended, but I am unaware of the status on his charges and the dealership claims the vehicle was removed from their property without their knowledge.

Re: Hit and Run

Get a lawyer to help you sue the dealership and the employee. Regardless of whether the dealership knew he was off the premises, if he got in the accident while he was on the clock, they have some liability. Don't try to do this yourself, however. Hire a competent personal injury attorney to help you.
