Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Illinois

pictures

I have a picture of a competitors pole barn that has an issue with it. We did work on the interior of it. An exterior picture was taken and then I emailed it to a customer to show him potential problems he could have. I didn't say it was a competitors building. I am curious if it is legal to use a picture like that.

There's nothing wrong with what you did in that situation. Had you used the design of the pole barn, you might have an issue, but just using a picture of another pole barn to show issues with the structure isn't a problem. Just don't use those pictures in advertising materials -- to do so might invite trouble.
