Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

Paralyzed vocal cord

I had a thyriod completely removed and i went to another doctor and he tested me said my right vocal cords are paralyzed - due to this I had to take a medical leave from work for I am a dispatcher... my throat hurts often and i talk very raspy and sometimes words dont even come out, I can not raise my voice at all.. can i claim a malpractice suit???
