Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

I lost an arbitration hearing with my financial advisor recently. My attorney wanted to sue civilly and I said no bc I thought it was pointless, especially bc our expert witness was deemd to be unqualified by the arbitrator (and me). My attorney mislead me about this "expert" and did not let me meet him until arbitration hearing or I would have known. So, I didn't pay the award quickly enough and my opponents filed a motion to "confirm the arbitration award and enter judgement". My attorney withdrew bc I criticized him about his "expert" witness. He also took a sizeable chunk for as yet unitemized expenses out of the refund AAA sent to me. I sent a check for the award amount certified mail a received confirmation of its receipt. What do I need to do now about this motion? There is a hearing scheduled for 12/2. The funds have not yet been withdrawn from my home equity line. How can I prove that I have made this payment? This in Dupage County, IL.

Show up in Court and show payment has been issued. You can contact the other atty and tell him about the payment you have made and that you do not want a judgment be entered against you. Any reasonable atty will cooperate with you in light of the fact that payment has been made.

I hope this helps-
