Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

When I was married, my spouse filed a personal injury suit against a major retailer. He received a settlement but we had divorced in the meantime. Do I have any right to part of the settlement?

That would depend whether there was a claim for a loss of consortium. If so, yes. If no, not from the retailer. However, you might hav a claim against the lawyer. The other question is whether you have a claim to the settlement as part of the maritial estate. You should post this question in the family law area.
