Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Can I sue my landlord and his insurance for personal injury to my child? My son was injured due to the landlord installing the proper cabinets in our rental home. We had been there for a little under 2 months when they fell and my hit me and my stove. When they hit my stove my son was burned. for the rest of the lease he made my life hell. Now he is suing me for damages of the home. I filed a lawsuit against his insurance and they said they will entertain a demand for compensation. My question is since that limitations says I have 2 years to file a small claims case can I sue him to for my sons injury, pain and suffering, and hell he put my family through?

If your son was injured, he indeed has a claim. If you son is a minor, then the 2 year time limit probably does not apply. The landlord's insurer will want to reach a settlement on the injury claim if possible, however, they will not be concerned about any non injury related issues you have with the landlord.
