Legal Question in Product Liability in Illinois

Can I sue a company because their product will cost me to have plastic surgery?

Is it to late to file suit against a company because their product will cost me to have corrective plastic surgery? Three years ago I purchased a medicated lip balm and used it for a while then one day I noticed that my lips had begin to split in the middle on the top and bottom so when I smile my inner lip tissue shows and it looks completely gross (the skin that is under your lips is visable and it's not suppose to be) before using this product I had full beautiful lips no I can't even smile because my lip tissue shows and it looks very unattractive and gross because of this product

It is probably not too late. It is the discovery of the injury that begins the statute of limitations, so the question will be when you recognized the injury. Proof of causation will be your problem, I think.
