Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

condo associations

When my doorbell was being played with by some kids, I decide to just diconnect the door bell. What I did not know is that the doorbells in my building is that if you disconnet one bell you diconnect all of them. Now the Association want to charge me 500 dollars for the expenses of getting everything fixed. I feel that this is not right. It's my door bell, in my condo, and they never warned me about not disconnecting the bells. What do you think. I am going to refuse to pay and let them take me to court.

Re: condo associations

Looks like you've already made up your mind - you might want to check your defenses including looking at the written decs and bylaws.
