Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I own a condo in which I have not paid my asseessment fees of $900.00. Because I was late I accrued a balance of about $1000.00. $50.00 late fee, $75.00 legal/paper filing fee. Along in this letter for the suit there is an additional fee of $1600.00, now bringing me to $2600.00. There letter does not state what the additional amount is for. I am assuming it is for filing the lawsuit, hiring a lawyer, and other legal fees. Am I responsible for paying the additional fees?

Usually, yes. If a condominium association has to file suit to collect past due assessments, in most cases attorneys' fees are also tacked on to the suit because the association incurs this additional expense.
