It depends on what your goal is, and what you mean by "fighting a foreclosure." If it is simply to delay the foreclosure, then bankrupcy will do that to a limited extent. Keep in mind that bankruptcy has its own ramifications. If by "fighting" you mean you have a valid defense (e.g., some sort of breach by the lender or servicer), then the bankruptcy would probably be of no utility. You should discuss this situation in detail with an attorney.
