Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

If i have a lease for an apt.and my lease is from 8-21-2010 to 6-2011.do i have to pay for the whole month of aug and then pay sep. rent on the first.i thought my rent would be prorated for aug. since my move in date is aug.21.

What does your lease say? Your landlord may be asking you to pay rent on the 21st of each month.....not the first? Check your lease!
