how old must a person be in illinois to buy properety and enter into that legal contract?

The law says 18, but the lender is not required to loan money to anyone and if they don't like the borrower's age, that's it.

If you can buy the property without a loan then there is no problem.

A person has to be 18 to enter into a legally binding contract in Illinois.
