Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Illinois

Sexual harassment or defamation of character

It was near the end of the class that we were talking about going for a drink next week when we all had off from the class. At this point, our teacher asked if everyone there was over 21. We all looked around and said yes. At that point, he alluded to (me) who wasnt there, and said (She) is over 21, right? He obviously meant this as a joke, because this student, is obviously in her late 40s . Though we all felt a little uncomfortable, we brushed it off by saying that even though she was older, she is still really vibrant and vivacious. Then he said Yeah, (she) is a patented cougar. She obviously really wants 22 year old c*** in her mouth. She is just asking for it. At this comment, the class stood, stunned, until one of the other students broke the ice with a comment. This letter was sent to management. I feel uncomfortable going back to class. I have taken these classes for a year. What are my rights?

This student that was commented about is a very good friend of ours, and we feel that Johns comment not only dishonored her as a person, but was sexist, belittled her as a woman, and showed age discrimination as well. He has put us all in the very uncomfortable position of not only having to defend on
