Legal Question in Tax Law in Illinois

Can I claim my lawyer fees for filing bankruptcy on my federal taxes. I had rental properties that tanked that caused me to have to file.

There are exceptions and nuances to every situation, but without knowing your particular facts and circumstances, I believe the answer is "no" you cannot deduct the legal fees.
