Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Illinois No Insurance Ticket

I just moved to Illinois from GA. I borrowed a friends car when mine broke down and got pulled over. Apparently the tag was suspended and he didn't have insurance..just my luck. I was cited for the tag and insurance. I contacted my insurance company who said since my vehicle was insured and I had permission my insurance would cover the borrowed car. I read online that my license is going to be suspended for three months!!?? Is this going to happen? Or will they just let me pay the fines which I am prepared to pay and not suspend my license or report these tickets to GA who might suspend my license since it is a mandatory suspension there if ticketed without insurance? Please help, I'm worried sick! Thanks!

Re: Illinois No Insurance Ticket

Hire an attorney. The attorney should be able to negotiate a plea bargain that will avoid the license problems altogether.
