Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Parking permits - unjust enrichment?

I displayed a valid parking permit on a rental car in my community and received a violation notice in the mail, not on the car, from the City. I appeared in court and the administrator indicated on the Notice that I did display the permit, however, I was still assessed a fine. I have filed an appeal and hte hearing will probably be held in June. Assuming that I prevail, what are the chances of recovering the filing fee? Is this unjust enrichment?

Re: Parking permits - unjust enrichment?

I will be surprised if you receive much response to this question. Normally attorneys do not get involved in parking ticket cases because paying the attorney's reasonable fees would greatly exceed the cost of the ticket itself. The practical thing to do is to pay the ticket and forget about it. Still, I suppose that if you wanted to pay me a thousand dollars I would go argue your appeal for you.:>)
