Can estate be sued for back child support

Can an estate be sued for back child support for a child in thier 40's? This is for state of Ill. thx.

In AR, the answer would be yes, the estate could be sued. I am not familiar with the laws of Illinois to say whether they would be different from AR. You might check with the office of Child Support Enforcement.

An attempt to recover from the estate must be made as any other claim against the estate. It must be filed within six months of the date the executor or administrator of the estate was appointed. The age of the child is immaterial.
