Although you may file to open a probate estate yourself (if you have "standing" to do so - i.e., being a beneficiary of the estate, a creditor, or someone named as executor in a will), it is advisable to consult with an attorney to assist you.

If you decide to do it on your own, the probate clerk may be able to provide you with the forms you will need.
