Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Can we do anything when my mother in law dies (86y/o) and leaver her estate to one sibling, nothing to my husband? We don't know what her assets are, could be thousands, could be millions. Can we find out what her net worth is?

Your mother in law had the right to leave her estate to anyone or no one. Your husband might or might not have the right to contest the will. The only way to "see" the estate is if the will is filed for probate. You should speak with a local probate attorney for further guidance.
