statute of descent and distribution

If a person from a different country (not US citizen) has bank account in US, while in US on business, passes away in his country, and there is no will, what happens to the balance ...does it go to spouse of a few months or can it be passed on to dependent elderly parents?

it will likely go to the spouse and any descendants but the titling of the account is critical. i would need more facts to give a more complete response but i would be happy to answer anymore questions you may have.
