Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

uncooperative trustee

My Grandfather died 2/01, he had a revocable trust, irrevocable trust and a will. I am a beneficiary. My cousin is trustee. Cousin has sent out the trust distribution agreement with forms to sign to all beneficiaries. I would like more information before I sign (detail of assets in estate, he has provided only a lump sum). Cousin will not provide me with additional information I request. I have been trying for over 6 months. Do I have a right to this information? What can I do to get the information?

Re: uncooperative trustee

As a beneficiary of the trust, you are almost certainly entitled to know on an annual basis the assets of the trust, and its income and disbursements. You should hire a lawyer to get that information for you before you sign anything or speak to others about this matter.
