vehicle ownership

my dad was murdered, his truck is being held as evidence in the trial for his murder. his auto insurance paid me what the truck was worth(2007 truck). I used the money to pay the balance off on the truck. when the trial is over, who owns the truck?

Re: vehicle ownership

Given the facts in your posting, the truck would be owned by your father's estate. It would then either be sold to pay the debts of his estate, or if there were no debts, distributed to his heirs (most likely you, your siblings, and your father's spouse).

Let me know if you need assistance with your father's estate.

I'm very sorry that this happened.
