Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

My wifes father has just passed and are having troble getting a copy of his will from her step mother. Is there another way to obtain a copy

If the Will has been filed you should be able to get a copy from the clerk of the circuit court in the county where your father lived. If it hasn't been filed, you might choose to remind/advise stepmother that Illinois law requires any person holding a decedent's original Will to file that Will with the clerk of the circuit court within 30 days after death.
